Lucille Boatwright, 93, of Willacoochee passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Berrien County to the late Walter Jordan and Georgia Peters Adams. She was a homemaker and former owner of Boatwright Shell Oil Distributorship and a member of First Baptist Church of Willacoochee. She was the widow of Troy Veryl Boatwright, who died in 1965.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Col. Charles and Carmen Boatwright of Valdosta, Dr. John and Betty Boatwright of Willacoochee; two grandchildren, Robert Boatwright, Macon, Etteinne Mitchell, Leesburg, Va.; and one great-grandchild, Morgan Andreiev.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Willacoochee with the Rev. Billy Huffstuttler and the Rev. John McMillan officiating. Interment will be held in Willacoochee City Cemetery. Visitation will be held this evening from 6-8 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.

STARKE - Thelma Jeanette Boatwright, 79, of Starke died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Shands Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville following an extended illness.
Born in Headland, Ala. Mrs. Boatwright moved to Starke in 1958. She was a homemaker and member of Smyrna Baptist Church
Mrs. Boatwright is survived by: three daughters, June Dicandio of Starke, Joann Eaves of Florahome and Gail Thomas of Starke; four brothers, Curtis Williams of Pensacola, Thomas Williams of Belleview, Jimmy Williams of West Palm Beach and Larry Williams of Ocala; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Lee Boatwright and two sons, Terrance Lee Boatwright and Dennis Wayne Boatwright.
Funeral services for Mrs. Boatwright were March 14, 2005 in the Chapel of Archie Tanner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Starling officiating. Burial followed in Crosby Lake Cemetery under the care of Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke.

Clinton "Boaty" Boatwright Jr., 82, of Fort McCoy, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala. A native of Winter Park, he moved here in 1954 from Jacksonville. Mr. Boatwright was sheriff's deputy and retired from the Marion County Sheriff's Office after 26 years.
He was also owner and operator of Boatwright's Garage and Towing Services.
He was a member of Salt Springs Lions Club and an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ocala.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Sadler-Boatwright of Fort McCoy; son, Gerald A. Boatwright of Salt Springs; daughter, Johanna F. Griffin of Hampton, Va.; stepson, Frank Sadler of Dunnellon; sister, Ollie Pate of Fort McCoy; brothers, Warren Boatwright of Naples, Zeke Boatwright of Springdale, Ga., Clifton Boatwright of Savannah, Ga., and Dock Boatwright of Swainsboro, Ga.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral set for longtime Bloomingdale firefighter

Longtime Bloomingdale firefighter Clifton “Zeke” Boatright has died, the city’s fire department announced Sunday night.
Boatright was the last still-active founding member of the fire department, which was started in 1959 and officially organized in 1961, said Bloomingdale Fire Medical Chief Ginger Tyler.
“As a matter of fact, he bought the first fire truck for the fire department,” she said. “As I
understand it was an old hay truck that he converted into a fire truck.”
Tyler said Boatright, who lived in Bloomingdale and died of natural causes, also served as chaplain for the Chatham County Fire Chiefs Association. He will be receiving full firefighter honors due to his more than 50 years of service.
“He was the absolute kindest man you’ll ever meet,” she said. “I was telling somebody earlier if there were 200 people in the room, before each of them left the room, they would all know how special they were because Mr. Zeke would make sure they knew.”
Boatright’s visitation was Monday at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Homes’ West Chatham Chapel on U.S. 80.
Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. today, and a graveside service will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens on Adams Road, about one mile past the fire station in Bloomingdale.
The memorial will continue after the committal service and fire department honors at the Bloomingdale Fire Station, 104 W. U.S. 80.
“We hope people show up from all over because he deserves it,” Tyler said.
Obituary:
Mr. Clifton D. “Zeke” Boatright, Sr., 86, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Boatright was born in Sanford, FL to the late Clinton & Ollie Boatright. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline R. Boatright. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Chester “Chek” Boatright and Clifford “Doc” Boatright, whom shared the distinction of being the oldest triplets in the Savannah area.
He was a charter member of Ash Street Baptist Church (formerly Milton Memorial Baptist Church).
He retired from Union Camp and served his country in both the U.S. Army and the National Guard for sixteen years. He served with the Pooler Fire Department for two years, was a founding father of the Bloomingdale Fire Department and served for over fifty-three years where he had formerly served as Fire Commissioner, Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member and chaplain of the Chatham County Fire Chief Association, a charter member of the Bloomingdale Lions Club and had served as chaplain of the Woodmen of the World.
He enjoyed yard work, fishing and serving his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Eddleman of Guyton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray & Donna Brown of West Chester, PA, Clifton D. “Jack” & Sherry Boatright, Jr. of Bloomingdale and John “Skippy” Boatright of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Amy Sanders, Lora Helmly and twins, Robbie and Ryan Eddleman; great-grandson, Brenton Sanders; brother, Jimmy Boatright of Dublin; several nieces and nephews; his best fishing buddy, Henry Crowe and a number of friends, including Millie Gatch and Harper Bragg, Sr.
The funeral to honor Mr. Boatright's life was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Carlton Wiley officiating. Active pallbearers were Larry Morris, Mike Patton, Ashley "Bear" Fields, Danny Stewart, Jason Simmons and Ernie Grizzard. Members of the Bloomingdale Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers. The New York native lived here since 1959. She was a charter member of Milton Memorial Baptist Church (now Ash Street Baptist Church), where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir and had been active with the church softball team. She was the Bloomingdale Fire Department dispatcher for 30 years and was active with the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Obituary:
Clifford "Doc" Boatright, 80, died March 19, 2006 at Candler Hospital.
The Sanford, FL., native had retired from Union Camp after 44 years of service. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, but had been attending Middleground Baptist Church. He had been a member of the Savannah Civil Defense and was an active member of Newington Fire Dept.
Mr. Boatright was predeceased by his infant son, Dale Boatright and his triplet brother, Chester Boatright.

Della Bernice Boatwright died May 27th unexpectedly after a short hospital stay. She is originally from Fitzgerald, GA. She is predeceased by her husband, Dudley Boatwright, who died 22 years ago. Bernice had just celebrated her 85th birthday on April 9, 2007. She was a founding member of the North Main Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances Boatwright and Polly Boatwright Pooser and three grandchildren Jennifer Catherine Rutledge, John Christopher Rutledge, and A. E. Pooser IV.
