Eveline was born to to Thomas Jefferson Demooney and Elizabeth "Betsy" Jackson DeMooney. Her fathers surname was actually "Demonia", for one reason or the other, "DeMooney" was adopted by him while his siblings adopted "DeMoney". Eveline's birth name was in reality "Mishael", She did not like the name because people called her "Mish". Her favorite Aunt was Eveline Jackson Banks so she adopted her name as her own.
Eveline came from a poor family made even poorer when her father was framed and sent to an insane asylum where he died innocent of the charges. Being found sane by the hospital Doctors, he was not released because his family never provided for his return home, There he died. Eveline had to work as a hired out cook and house keeper at a very early age to supplement the family income.
She met and married Robert Chesley Boatright, moved to East Point, Ga. and raised 8 children. During the depression, she fed those seeking food on her back porch stoop never turning anyone away even though food was short. She never refused anyone because of the Bible verse Hebrews 13:2 which says: "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
She suffered the loss of her oldest son, Jack R. Boatright in World War II. Determined to help with the War Effort, she served as an Air Raid Warden and helped with events to raise money for the Allied Forces.

While the 1880 Wilkes County, Georgia census and the 1910 Scott, County, Mississippi census listed Marshall Maderson Boatwright as "farmer", in fact, he was a "housepainter and paperer" in his own business with his brother, William Edgar Boatwright. My father - Alexander Comodore Boatwright, helped them on many occasions. In fact, that became my father's primary occupation in life. I can remember my father taking the family to see his "Uncle Ed" in Meridian, Mississippi before he died. He gave me a small lantern which I still have.

Henry Jefferson Farmer Boatwright was the only grandparent living when I was born. In her later years she travelled between and lived with different members of the family: us in the summer at Gulfport, Mississippi; her sister, Darden Stubbs in Louisville, Mississippi; her son, James ("Jimmy") at Mobile, Alabama; and her daughter, Mary Frances at Sulphur Mines, Louisiana. I recall her being a "large woman" who dipped snuff. My job just prior to her coming to our home was to get her a "spit can".
