John R. Ellison died of a heart attack complicated by cancer of the colon. Their son Toxie Reuben died while in the U.S. Service, serving in Japan. The family thought he had been killed, but it was never proven. He is also buried in Clark Cemetery, Daingerfield, Texas.

Born at Kiamichi, Oklahoma she began her teaching career at 18 years of age. She taught grades one through sixth, however, her favorite grade was the second. She was a member of Eastern Star for many years, but devoted most of her "free" time to taking care of her family and tending her garden.
She stood approximately 5'5" tall, was green/blue-eyed with strawberry blonde hair during her youth which darkened to a light brown as she aged.

Mr. Boatwright was born April 21, 1929, near Glasco. He was a security guard for El Dorado Recreational Vehicle Factory, Minneapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen, of the home; a daughter, Lisa Wunder of Girard; and a sister, Lenora Hogsett of Larned.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Glasco. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association or the Nicol Home.
There will be no visitation. The body was bequeathed to the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Mr. Carl David Boatwright, 77, of 115 Elm St. died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born in Marvin County, N.C., Mr. Boatwright retired from Springs Industries and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Kee Boatwright; three sons, David W. Boatwright of Catawba, Kevin Wayne Boatwright and Carl Brian Boatwright, both of Fort Mill; three daughters, Linda Kay Hall, Martha Jean Kimbrell, and Debra B. Fields, all of Fort Mill; two brothers, Cecil C. Boatwright and Wayland D. Boatwright, both of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Martha Kimbrell, 1938 Vista Road, Fort Mill.

Mildred Hartsfield was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Greenwood, Ark. A homemaker, she moved in 1946 to Portland and in about 1982 to Vancouver. In 1945, she married William H.; he died in 2005.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Jo Purkey and Eddy M. Kinsella; son, William G.; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Rockford Cemetery in Lamar County under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Boatright was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Biardstown, a daughter of Edward and Alma Price Locke. She married James William Boatright Aug. 13, 1927, in Cunningham. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Loreda Cunningham of Arlington and Carol Ivey of Yantis; four sisters, Carrie Tucker of Abilene, Hazel Farmer of Hugo, OK, Margie Meadows of Scottsdale, AZ and Betty Hudson of Hamilton; one brother, Earl Locke of Pasadena; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sons and one grandson. Pallbearers will be men from Wesley United Methodist Church.

Thomas Vaughn Boatwright, 96, a long time Vallejoan and businessman, passed away peacefully at Victoria Board and Care in Vallejo.
Thomas was born in Harrison, Arkansas, the second child of six children of Daniel and Bessie Boatwright. He attended school in Harrison before going to The College of the Ozarks in 1934 on a basketball scholarship. After college, he came to Vallejo in 1937 where he went to work on Mare Island as a ship fitter and then the Mare Island Fire Department where he spent 33 years before retiring as Captain in 1973. During this time, Mr. Boatwright owned and operated Boatwright's Cabinet shop on Maryland Street in the old Foster Lumber yard. He finally retired from cabinet work and closed the business in 1983.
He was an active member of the Vallejo and Oakland Masonic Lodge, the Ben Ali Shiners, Vallejo Elks Club, Local N. 180 Carpenters Union, East Vallejo Little League, Vallejo Horsemen's Association, Sunrise Memorial Cemetery Board, and the Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife Grace, were married for 59 years and spent their leisure time with friends in a very active travel trailer group.
He enjoyed travel with his family and many friends, fishing and camping in the high sierra at Lee Vining Creek, and building a second home at Clear Lake.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; wife Grace; his brother, State Senator Daniel Boatwright; sisters, Delila (Billie) Boatwright, Modene Ruff, JoAnn Williams, and Iona Tucker.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Morgan; son, Gary Boatwright (Debbie); grandchildren, Mike Morgan (Kirsten), Marc Morgan (Rhoda), Brad Boatwright, and Bryson Boatwright; great-grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Julie Devlin, and Alexis Morgan; eight nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Victoria Board and Care, Julia Krasner, M.D.; Mary Nogoy and family, for their excellent care and compassion.
Visitation is Friday, June 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. Services Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m., both at Colonial Chapels Funeral Home, 1000 Redwood St., Vallejo.
Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Biography
Daniel Eugene Boatwright, Democrat, served in the California Legislature as a State Assembly Member from 1973-1980 and as a State Senator from 1981-1996. During Boatwright's twenty-four year career as a legislator, he represented the greater portion of Contra Costa County including the cities of Brentwood, Concord, Martinez, Pittsburg, and Walnut Creek. In 1972, Daniel Boatwright was elected to the 10th California State Assembly District. During his first legislative session in office, 1973-1974, the 10th Assembly District encompassed central and eastern Contra Costa County including the cities of Brentwood, Concord, and Walnut Creek. Boatwright served the 10th District during his entire tenure in the Assembly. Elected to the Senate in 1980, Boatwright entered office for the following legislative session, 1981-1982, representing the 7th Senate District, which represented practically the same region of Contra Costa County as his Assembly District. Senatorial redistricting in 1990 extended the 7th District to include a small portion of northeastern Alameda County, comprised of cities such as Livermore and Pleasanton. Throughout his career, Boatwright primarily represented Contra Costa County and the large housing tracts, office parks, and oil refineries along the south banks of the Suisun Bay and Sacramento River that operated within his district's limits (Who's Who in the California Legislature, 1991, p.20 and 1995, p.15).
Born in Harrison, Arkansas in 1930, Daniel Boatwright moved with his parents, four sisters, and one brother establishing residence in Vallejo, California in 1938. Boatwright attended public schools in Vallejo and shortly after graduating from high school; he joined the United States Army in 1948. In the Army, Boatwright served his country as a combat infantryman in the 7th Infantry Division in Korea from 1950 to 1951. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1952, Boatwright returned to Vallejo where he attended Vallejo Junior College. While at Vallejo Junior College, he received a true taste of governmental leadership as he earned appointment as President of the California Junior College Student Government Organization, an organization that represented over 60 California Junior Colleges in organizing student affairs on campus. Later, Boatwright moved on to the University of California, Berkeley where he received his Baccalaureate degree in Political Science in 1956. It only took him three more years to earn his Jurist Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, accomplishing that feat in 1959 (Legislative Handbook: Members of the California Legislature, 1973, p.10).
Boatwright quickly began his career as an attorney going to work as a deputy district attorney
in Contra Costa County, which he followed up by entering private law practice, eventually
opening his own law firm in Concord in 1970. Boatwright was a member of the California, Contra
Costa, and Mount Diablo Bar Associations. During this time, Boatwright met and married his first
wife Gina Hilbert, a registered nurse, with whom he had three sons, Danny, David, and Donald.
Boatwright is currently married to Teresa Boatwright. In 1966, Boatwright was elected to the
Concord City Council and simultaneously elected mayor, the first freshman council member ever
elected mayor in Concord. Boatwright served as mayor from 1966 to 1968 and remained on the city
council until his election to the California State Assembly. Furthermore, Boatwright helped
found the County Criminal Justice Agency, the Concord AAU Swim Club in Contra Costa County, and
in 1974, he was the recipient of the Sierra Club's "Wildlife Conservationist of the Year" award
(California Legislature at Sacramento, 1975, p.189).
In the 1972 General Election, Boatwright was first elected to the Assembly from the 10th Assembly District. The 1974 and 1976 elections demonstrate Boatwright's political popularity because, according to the California Legislature Handbook of 1977-1978, he was re-elected with the largest number of votes achieved statewide by any Democratic assembly member during those two elections. Boatwright chaired the top fiscal and budget-writing Assembly Committee on Ways and Means from 1976 to 1980. At the time of his appointment in 1976, he was the least tenured legislator ever named to head that powerful committee. In 1980, Boatwright decided to run for election to the state senate and in that general election, he was elected to the 7th Senate District by a substantial margin.
In the Senate, Boatwright's legislative interests fully honed in on fiscal activity and fiscal
responsibility in state government. As the Chair of the Senate Select Committee on State
Procurement and Expenditure Practices, Boatwright led investigations into allegations of fraud,
corruption and monetary waste in state government programs. Furthermore, Boatwright chaired the
Revenue and Taxation Committee as well as the top finance committee of the Senate, the
Appropriations Committee in 1986. With that appointment, according to the California Legislature
at Sacramento handbook of 1994, Boatwright became the only legislator to have chaired the top
fiscal committees of both houses of legislature, the Ways and Means committee in the Assembly
and the Appropriations Committee in the Senate. Throughout his legislative career, Boatwright
continued to establish himself as a leader on issues that addressed property tax relief, closing
tax loopholes for the wealthy, limits on government spending, promoting the use of alcohol
fuels and other alternative energy sources in California, improving water quality and the
environment, and providing funding for research of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Boatwright
left office in 1996 because of term limits.
Following his distinguished twenty-four year career in office, Daniel Boatwright remained active and influential in politics and policy becoming a registered lobbyist in December 1996. According to his web-profile, Boatwright serves as general counsel to Sacramento Advocates, Inc., a prominent State Capitol lobbying firm established in 1990 by Boatwright's former committee consultant and chief of staff Barry S. According to recent news articles, Boatwright still devotes a great deal of time to community sporting and charitable activities, especially towards continued research of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In 1991, the California SIDS Conference established a Senator Daniel E. Boatwright Award for distinguished service in the fight against SIDS. The award acknowledges individuals in the California SIDS community who have performed extraordinary public service towards the treatment of SIDS. The Boatwright Award remains the most prestigious SIDS award given in California and is named for Boatwright because of his influential legislation regarding treatment of SIDS parents and standardizing examinations of SIDS cases.

Urbandale - Daniel J. Boatwright, 81, died on June 16, 2008 at Calvin Community.
Daniel was born on August 20, 1926 in Des Moines. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WW II and Korean War.
Daniel retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1985, after 37 years of service. He enjoyed skeet shooting, fishing, golfing, and woodworking. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Windsor; and grandson, Nathan Windsor.
Daniel will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Barbara (Hearn); children, Steve (Marcia), Bill (Parady), and Mary (Douglas) Boatwright Johnson; five grandchildren; his siblings, Gertrude (Jerry) Heston, Phyllis Conway, Mary Clark, Pat Serpento, Jim (Dee) Boatwright, Jerry Boatwright, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy (Boatwright) Windsor; and grandson, Nicholas Windsor.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Care on Thursday, June 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial with Military Honors will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Walter was born Oct. 22, 1905, to the late John Ervin Boatwright and Leonora Gunn Boatwright. He graduated from Baird High School and Draughton's Business School in Abilene and attended Abilene Christian College.
In 1926, he hitchhiked to Amarillo with $9.38 in his pocket. He had a job with the railroad for a short time before going to work for Phillips Petroleum Co.
While with Phillips, he resided in Pasadena, Borger and Bartlesville, Okla. He left Phillips in 1962 to become a civilian pilot instructor for the Army with Coleman Flying Service in Coleman.
Boat married Orpha Montzella Thorn on March 2, 1929. She preceded him in death on their 73rd wedding anniversary, March 2, 2002.
Boat was a deacon and active member of Temple Baptist Church. He became a Mason in 1928 and was a member of the Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731. He was given an 80-year award in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, "Montie;" two sons, William Don Boatwright in 2006 and Frederick Von Boatwright in 2008; two sisters, Kathryn Van Quirk and Thelma Lois Smith; and a brother, John Virgil Boatwright.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Pat Boatwright; a grandson, James Boatwright and wife Joyce; a granddaughter, Kathie Sanderson and husband John; five great-grandchildren, Caleb Sanderson and wife Alicia, Tyson Sanderson and wife Alex, Kristin Sanderson, Scott Sanderson and Regan Boatwright; two great-great-granddaughters, Madeline Sanderson and Anika Sanderson; and a special cousin, Marilyn Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, 219 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101; or Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Montzella "Montie" Thorn Boatwright, 93, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 2, 2002.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Graham Harvey officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ross Cemetery at Baird.
Mrs. Boatwright was born in Fairmont, Ind., on Aug. 8, 1908. She married Walter C. Boatwright on March 2, 1929, in Borger. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church, Joy Club and the Naomi Sunday School. She was a former scout leader, Sunday school teacher and PTA president.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.A. and Gertrude Thorn; and a sister, Pauline Harris.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, William D. Boatwright and wife, Noni, of Marble Falls and Fred Boatwright and wife, Pat, of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boatwright was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Wanette to Ira C. and Alta Caskey Boatwright. He married Sylvia P. Lidbury on Sept. 4, 1949, in Alex.
Glennis was employed for 27 years with the USDA in the Agriculture Research Service, which included 10 years at NASA in the satellite space program. He retired in 1985, but continued to work for the space program for eight months in Washington, D.C.
His work took him from Oklahoma to North Dakota to Montana to Colorado. After 15 years with the USDA, he ranched with his brothers for four years, after which he returned to the USDA in Houston and finally Washington.
After retiring, Glennis lived 13 years with Sylvia in Duncan where they served Jesus together. He continued growing toward spiritual maturity as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He had this advice for his children, "Remember, here is the conclusion of the matter, fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
Glennis has finished the race, kept the faith, attained the Crown of Righteousness kept for all who long for the appearing of the Lord Christ Jesus.
He was a member of the Promise Keepers and the Red River Men of Integrity. He was also a member of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ and Cotton Hills Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia, of the home; four daughters, two sons and their spouses, Kathy and Robert Frias of Cleveland, Texas, Janice and Wayne Pringle of Fort Worth, Debbie and Donny Brock of Duncan, Bill and Cheryl Boatwright of Oskaloosa, Kan., Jimmy Boatwright of Franklin, Tenn., and Christie Powell of Denton, Texas; two brothers and sistersin- law, Guy and Monetta Boatwright of Oklahoma City and Dale and Ruby Boatwright of Chickasha; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Shirley Lidbury; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Harold Orr; and a sister-in-law, Corene Boatwright; 11 grandchildren, Laurie and Clay, Lisa and Ty, Timmy and Sandra, John, Paul, Jared, Adam, Shea, Dalton, Ashton and William; two-great grandchildren, Fisher and Brittany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Sylvia Pearl Boatwright Cox, 74, of Duncan, Oklahoma were held Monday, February 7, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with ministers John Bailey and Dan Meyers officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Okla.
Sylvia was born January 26, 1931 in Bengough, Saskatchewan, Canada to Edward & Pearly (Head) Lidbury and died February 4, 2005 in Duncan, Okla.
Sylvia was a homemaker and formerly a member of the Duncan Art Guild. She was a member of the Chisolm Trail Church of Christ.
Sylvia was married to Glennis O. Boatwright September 4, 1949. He preceded her in death April 9, 2000. She was married to Roy Cox December 30, 2002.
Sylvia was also preceded in death by one daughter, Laurie Alta Boatwright and one daughter-in-law, Linda Lou Boatwright.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Roy Cox of Burford, Ontario, Canada; two sons, Glen W. Boatwright and wife Cheryl of Oskaloosa, Kan., James Chesley Boatwright of Franklin, Tenn.; four daughters, Kathy Boatwright Frias and husband Robert of Cleveland, TX, Janice Boatwright Pringle and husband Wayne of Ft. Worth, TX, Debbie Boatwright Brock and husband Donny of Duncan, OK, and Sonya Christine Boatwright of Duncan, OK; one brother, David & Shirley Lidbury of Airdrie, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Mary & Harold Orr of Saskatchewan, Canada; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale & Ruby Boatwright of Chickasha, OK; brother-in-law, Guy Boatwright of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Corrine Boatwright of Alec, OK; many nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren, Laurie, Tim, Lisa, John, Paul, Adam, Jared, Shea, Dalton, Ashton, William; 15 step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Guy Dewain Boatwright, 75, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Guy Dewain Boatwright was born April 10, 1931 in Wanette, Oklahoma the son of Ira and Alta (Caskey) Boatwright and died September 17, 2006 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Guy grew up in the Chitwood area and graduated from Alex High School. He moved to the Warr Acres area in 1963.
He and Monetta Aline Hawkins were married December 28, 1956 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death July 30, 2003.
Guy worked for the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. He was also preceded in death by: Parents: Ira and Alta Boatwright; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: LeVoy and Katherine Boatwright; Lloyd Boatwright; Vernon and Virginia Boatwright; Glennis and Sylvia Boatwright.
Survivors include: two daughters and their husbands: Vickie Lynn and Randy Canham of Lexington, Kentucky; Marlene Lanora and Ray Upton Jr. of Oklahoma City; four granddaughters: Christina Upton, Rachel Canham, Deborah Canham, Cassandra Upton; one brother: Dale Boatwright and wife Ruby of Chickasha; Sister-in-law: Corene Boatwright of Alex, Oklahoma;
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
