Earl Boatright, age 89, was born July 16, 1922, in Lafayette County, grew up in the Denmark community and died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the VA Nursing Home in Oxford. He retired from the Entex Corporation, was owner of Boatright's Menswear and was a veteran of World War II serving in the China, Burma, and India Theater with most of his service in India as a Staff/Sgt. in the Army Air Corp. He was a charter member of Temple Heights Baptist Church and is a member of North Oxford Baptist Church.
He was devoted to his family especially his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed gardening, sharing his tomatoes with friends and was a lifelong fan of Ole Miss Football. Training and hunting with his bird dogs was a passion and enjoyed very much with his son and his grandsons.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda Broun, of Dunwoody, Georgia, one son, Tommy Boatright of Oxford, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elwanda Fleming Boatright, a daughter, Paula Ann Boatright, his parents Thomas J. and Lavada Tallant Boatright, three sisters Etta Mae Black, Dorothy Richey, and Gladys Metts; three brothers, Earnest Boatright, Curt Boatright, and James Tallant.
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Flynt officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Saturday from 12:00 until Service Time at Waller Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to North Oxford Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1700, Oxford, Mississippi 38655 or to the Pine Flat United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Pine Flat Cemetery Fund, c/o Sammye Baker, 294 Hwy 328, Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
In honor of Mr. Boatright’s service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home during the funeral service.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Memorial services for Edward E. Boatright, 94, of Riverside, Calif., will be September 30, 2011, at Riverside National Cemetery under the direction of Arlington Mortuary. He died at his home in Riverside on September 17, 2011.
Mr. Boatright was born July 29, 1917, to Bud and Lilla Boatright. He lived most of his life in Washington County near Lake Washington. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941-1963 and retired a Sr. Master Sergeant. He was involved in data processing and computers in the early 1950s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Erma L. Boatright; sisters, Ellene Tavenner, Cassel Pittman, Jetti Harp and brother James N. Boatright.
He is survived by his stepson, Edmund H. Barry and his wife Janice Barry; granddaughters, Debra Dolan, Barbara Barry and Lori Barry; five great-grandsons; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Peterson, Junita Holla, Hope Wells; brother, Bobby Hooker; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ross Boatright Sr.
COURTLAND - Ross Nolan Boatright Sr., 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Greenwood-
Leflore County Hospital in Greenwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was
an educator, a businessman, a farmer and a salesman for Custom Signs of Batesville. He was a
past member of the Oxford Lions Club and a past alderman-at-large of Oxford. He was a
member of the Courtland Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Locke officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Boatright of Courtland; a son, Ross Nolan Boatright Jr. of Oxford; a daughter, Sandra Boatright Roy of Gautier; a sister, Bonnie Wolfe of Oxford; a stepson, Fred Shirley, and three stepdaughters, Judy Inman, Sherry Hall and Lisa Chambers, all of Courtland;10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time Sunday.

OBITUARY: JAMES “FRANK” BOATRIGHT, age 92, of Main St., Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009. He was born May 13, 1916 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Ida Pearl Bachelor Boatright and James Grover Boatright. Mr. Boatright was a retired employee of Nova Products, was an avid gardener and enjoyed wood working. He served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army during WWII as a part of the tank corp. serving in the European Theatre. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Duke Boatright; brother, W.C. Boatright (who was a casualty in WWII) and sisters, Velma Crawford and Marie Sailors. Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Elaine & John W. Sauls of Villa Rica, Ga., and Tanya & Ed Bradberry of Franklin, Ga.; sister and brother in law, Lucille & Render Dyer of Carrollton, Ga.; brother and sister in law, Cecil & Sybil Boatright of Whitesburg, Ga.; grandchildren, Eric & Debbie Sauls, Nathan & Jane Sauls, Curt Sauls, Chuck & Ginger Harper, Chad & Kim Harper and Keri & Chris Denney; also 13 great grandchildren. Mattie “Lucile” Boatright Dyer, 82, of Harris Road, Carrollton, died on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1927, in Carrollton, the daughter of the late James Grover Boatright and Ida Pearl Batchelor Boatright.
Mrs. Dyer was a loving wife, mother, aunt, great aunt and friend as well. She loved to read. She also was a member of Bethany Christian Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, James Frank Boatright, Velma Boatright Crawford, W.C. Boatright and Marie Boatright Sailors.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Render Dyer; daughter and son-in -law, Elissa Dyer and Mark Lee of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Sybil Boatright of Whitesburg.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. Gary Brown and Bro. Allen Howard officiating. Tim Johnson, Todd Johnson, Chuck Harper, Boyd Stephens, James Sailors, Lee Parrish, Terry Dyer and Cory Burson will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Mildred Yates Boatright of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was 87.
Mrs. Boatright was born on April 22, 1924, on Blackjack Mountain in Carroll County, Georgia, to the late Lark Arlie and Ora Bishop Yates. She was a retired nurse, having worked at Tanner Hospital in Carrollton and Bowdon Area Hospital. She was also a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church in Carrollton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert Yates and Dwain Yates.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald Boatright; her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Joan Boatright of Bowdon; her daughter, Malinda Camp of Niceville, Fla.; her sister, Wilma Marlow of Bowdon; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Les Abbott of Gainesville, Fla., Corbin and Jenny Camp of Birmingham, Ala., Andy Boatright of Bowdon, and Lauren and Chance White of Spanish Fort, Ala.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Cross Plains Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Suites and Rev.
Bryan Cox will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Prior to the service, her body will be placed in the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 1, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Melba Louise Boatright, age 82, a resident of The Oakes, Carrollton, Ga. , passed away Nov. 16, 2010. She was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Carrollton, Ga., the daughter of the late Pearlie Mae Stitcher Boatright and William Otto Boatright.
Mrs. Boatright was a homemaker and a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jewell Evelyn Willis, Jessie Katherine Kidd, Ruby Hazel Boatright, Mary Grace Woodall and Doris Gentry; brothers, Hugh Dorsey Boatright, Thomas Watson Boatright, William Fredrick Boatright, Charles Joseph Boatright and Talmadge Kenneth Boatright.
Survivors include nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
