Boatright, Ruby Boatright, Leamon Oral Boatright, Jewel Boatright Hancelman, Hugh W. Boatright, Bessie L. Boatright Downing, and Jannie Boatright. She lost her husband in 1959. Seven years later, on March 16, 1966, she went to join him.

Luther Loveless worked for many years as a peddler. He drove a wagon with mules, and later an old truck, along 4 different routes that took him from Gravel Hill, to Gum Log, Moreland, and other townships in Pope County, Arkansas. He would get his goods from Mr. Talkington, who ran a store in Gravel Hill, near the St. Paul Methodist Church, and sell to farms along the route. He often bartered for his goods, taking back eggs, chickens, or whatever else the family had to spare to settle-up with Mr. Talkington. He kept a long rod with a small hook on the end to catch whichever chicken the family had to trade, and paid by the pound for the chickens. He would keep the staples on the truck; flour, salt, coffee, sugar, and would also take cloth, washpans, skillets and other necessary items.

Joe Boatright, 25, a young farmer of Brushy, who was overseas for twenty months during the world war and was gassed, died at 10:45 o'clock Monday night of tuberculosis, which developed from his being gassed while in battle.
The young man returned to his home here in 1919, and like so many soldiers who suffered from gas wounds, enjoyed very good health for a few short months before his lungs began to trouble him again. He worked for the Harrisburg Colliery Company at their Harco mine until about three months ago and since that time has been bedfast.
He was married to Miss Ella Stilley and is survived by her and two children besides the mother, who is the widow of the late William Boatright, who was killed by James McGowan a few years ago while serving as county highway commissioner.
The family is very well known, having associated with all of the old families of the county and the news of Joe Boatright's death will be received with keen regret by those who knew him.
The funeral will be held at the family residence at Brushy at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning and the body will be taken to Ward cemetery for burial.
Just two weeks ago Everett Boatright died of blood poisoning and was buried at the Ward Cemetery.

MARION- Mary Boatright, 90, of Marion passed away at 11:55 AM, Monday, April 26, 2004 at Friendship Care Center, Herrin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Fred Boatright officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday, April 30, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Mrs. Boatright was born on June 15, 1913 in Marion, Illinois to William and Susan Francis (Reese) Taylor. She married Roy Boatright On February 19, 1938 in Charleston, Missouri, he preceded her in death on May 29, 1981.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Lois Taylor and Lucille Roberson; one brother, Robert Taylor; and two brothers-in-law, Wilbern Boatright and Walter Boatright.
Mrs. Boatright was a member of the First Christian Church in Marion. She worked as a clerk at Campbell`s Rexall Pharmacy for several years.

Boatright, 92, of Decatur died 7:25 a.m. Monday (May 1, 2000) in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church Building or Shriners Children's Hospital.
Mr. Boatright was born in Harrisburg, May 17, 1907, the son of Mac and Cora Vineyard Boatright. He was district sales representative for Swift & Co. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979 for 49 years; a member of Scottish Rite, Ansar Shrine of Springfield and Shrine Club of Decatur. He was a past member of the Macon County Zoning Board. Mr. Boatright was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Inn, Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Red Cross Bloodmobile. He was a member of the Decatur Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher for many years and also sponsored Laotian families through the church. He married Ruby Mangum on Jan. 20, 1934. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1999.
Surviving are his daughters, Barbara Bartison and husband Denny of Decatur; Janie Wise and husband Howard of Moweaqua; brother, Wilburn Boatright of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Dana Spies of Normal; Mark Paulson and wife Alyson of Oswego; Chad Wise of Chicago; Chris Wise of Moweaqua; great-grandchildren, Kate Spies and Hank Spies of Normal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and two infant sisters.

Mrs. Boatright was born in Creal Springs on July 13, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Martha Jones Mangum. She was retired from Warren & VanPraag Architects and was a member of First United Methodist Church and Decatur Club. She was a former PTA president at Riverside School and a volunteer for Decatur Memorial Hospital and Red Cross Bloodmobile. She married Walter C. Boatright on Jan. 20, 1934.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Barbara Bartison and husband Denny of Decatur; Janie Wise and husband Howard of Moweaqua; sister, Pauline Mann of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren, Dana Spies of Normal; Mark Paulson and Chad Wise, both of Chicago; Chris Wise of Moweaqua; great-grandchildren, Kate Spies and Hank Spies of Normal.

Horace Boatright Retired Teacher and Farmer, Dies
Horace Boatright, 64, retired school teacher and farmer, died today at 8:45 a.m. at his residence in the Bankston community. Death followed a long illness.
He was the son of Albert and Alice Boatright and was born in Saline county. He married Imo Nolen in 1921 and they had made their home in Bankston for 34 years. Mr. Boatright was a member of the Bankston Fork church where he was a deacon and he had been a member of the Masonic lodge No. 686 of Galatia.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Jean, who lives in Chicago, and one grandson, Tommy, and three sister, Mrs. Howard (Mable) Russell, Los Angeles, Mrs. Tom (Opal) Hollingsworth, Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Purvis (Helen) Sparks, Vista, Calif.
The body is in care of Gaskins funeral home and arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Imo Boatright, 86, of 809 North Main St. Anna, formerly of Harrisburg, died Saturday at her residence.
She was the widow of Horace Boatright, who preceded her in death in February, 1955.
She was born in the Ledford community on Aug 26, 1901, daughter of the late Sigel and Ardenia Nolen.
Mrs. Boatright was a member of the Bankston Fork Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Jean Boatright of Anna; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Iona Schafer of Muskegon, Mich. A brother John Nolen and a sister, Ilda Nolen Filas, preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gaskin Funeral Home, where friends are calling. The Rev. Richard Reed will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

POISON FOUND AFTER S. A. GIRL DIES.
Visitor in Home of Friend Becomes Suddenly Stricken
Evelyn Boatwright, 16 year-old school girl, is dead.
Without regaining consciousness, she died at 5:20 o'clock Thursday afternoon, within 40 minutes after being found by Mrs. John Coggin and Mary Freund, a chum, of 915 Guenther Street, in a state of coma at the home of the former, 315 Garden street.
The girl's screams attracted her friends to the room where they had left her a few minutes before. Unable to explain the cause of her condition, they rushed her to the Robert B. Green Hospital.
Detective A. A. Hartman reached the scene of the tragedy shortly after the trip to the hospital had begun. He found a small vial, which evidently had contained poison, in the hallway of the Coggin home.
Miss Boatwright, whose parents live at the intersection of the Concepeion Road and Mitchell Avenue, and Miss Freund left their home for a conventional social call with Mrs. Coggin.
Through apparently perturbed and worried, the school girl conversed gaily at time with her companions, according to the information given the detective. Later, however, the detective learned, the two girls discussed a youth, who was the friend of both.
Her friends left her in the room alone and retired to another part of the house. Shortly afterward, her screams brought them to her.

Mororcycle Rider Killed in Test Ride
Proprietor of Motor Shop Here Crashes Into Rear of Auto Near Airport, Driver of Car Confused by Signals of Watchers and Turns Into "Race" Path
Speeding along on his specially geared motorcycle, Waldemar Boatright, 28, proprietor of the Harley Motor Company, 1410 Commerce Street, was killed instantly about 6 p.m. yesterday when his machine crashed into the rear of an automobile driven by Bedford Bilbrey, two miles north of the Municipal Airport on the Decatur Highway.
Boatright was making a test run in preparation for a race between himself and David (AB) Jenkins, Salt Lake City, Utah, factory demonstration for an automobile concern. Jenkins was to drive an automobile and Boatright his motorcycle.
According to Jenkins, who was trailing Boatright 100 yards to the rear, the motorcycle rider was traveling at a speed of about 55 miles an hour. The Car driven by Bilbrey was going in the same direction and as Boatright approached, the automobile turned to the left in front of the motorcycle. Boatright attempted to swerve but his machine struck the rear of the car. His head and body were crushed by the impact and he was dead when witnesses arrived.
Bilbrey, who resides two miles north of Saginaw, told a physician who treated him for cuts on his face, that he was flagged by watchers at the side of the highway and became confused. He was not aware of the test of the motorcycle behind him, and was turning across to ark hi car beside other machines when the accident occurred, he told the physician.
The men who signaled Bilbrey were employees of the motorcycle company and of an automobile agency here, who were witnessing the test. They were attempting to get Bilbrey to clear the road for Boatright.
Boatright resided at 2515 Yucca Avenue. He survived by his wife, a daughter, Dorothy Boatright, 2: an infant son, A. W. Boatright, three months old; his father, E. L. Boatright, Dallas, and two brothers, Fred Boatright, Galveston, and G. E. Boatright, New York City.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Lucas Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
